Applegate After Dark works to increase awareness and knowledge of the health, environmental, and economic benefits of dark nights, while working to decrease light pollution in the Applegate Valley.

About Applegate After Dark
The group meets monthly and is actively involved in collecting dark sky data throughout the Applegate Valley. They organize public events that celebrate nighttime ecology and conduct outreach activities that raise awareness about light pollution. Through education and engagement, Applegate After Dark highlights how preserving natural darkness supports wildlife, enhances human well-being, and protects the beauty of our star-filled skies.

DarkSky International restores the nighttime environment and protects communities from the harmful effects of light pollution through outreach, advocacy, and conservation.
It is made up of 193,000 supporters, members, and advocates in more than 70 countries. It provides leadership, tools, and resources for individuals, policymakers, and industry, in order to reduce light pollution and promote responsible outdoor lighting that is beautiful, healthy, and functional.
