Applegate After Dark: will be celebrating nature’s nighttime wonders with "The Twilight Zone: Bugs, Bats, and Beyond” at Provolt Recreation Site!
A twilight gathering will lead into a bat walk with BLM Biologist Zia Fukuda, followed by a moth demonstration from Pollinator Project Rogue Valley. The night will conclude with guided sessions on astronomy and astrophotography.

Schedule of Events:
7:00–8:00 PM – Twilight Zone Welcome - Enjoy cookies and comfy seating while experts present on dark sky conservation, bats, moths, astrophotography, and the celestial sights we’ll explore later.
8:00–8:30 PM – Bat Walk - Take a guided walk with Bureau of Land Management (BLM) biologists along the river to observe bats in action. You might even meet one up close!
8:30–9:00 PM – Moth Viewing - Discover the world of nighttime pollinators with Pollinator Project Rogue Valley, using special techniques to attract and view moths.
9:00 PM–Late – Star Party & Astrophotography - As darkness falls, gather in the open field for telescope viewing of Saturn, the Andromeda Galaxy, and more. Bring your smartphone or camera for hands-on astrophotography coaching.
